Getting Started with Meevo Payroll
Before setting up Payroll in Meevo, you should already have a general understanding of how you will structure your business's payroll. With that in mind, the options below are what we recommend you consider for a standard payroll setup. Of course, depending upon how your business runs payroll and pays employees, some of these options and features may not be applicable.
At a minimum, we recommend you consider:
- The payroll frequency, including whether retail is on a different cadence than wage and service commission
- Hourly workers' overtime threshold
- Your employees' pay and commission structure
- If you have hourly employees, whether you intend on using the Time Clock
- Whether you intend on implementing Payroll deductions
These are only some of the payroll options available in Meevo. In the Advanced payroll options section below, we discuss additional options that you can use to further refine and customize your payroll.

The Configuring Payroll topic walks you through a standard Meevo payroll setup. Remember, some configurations may not apply to your business, so give these options careful consideration before you begin setting up your payroll in Meevo.
Advanced payroll options
After completing the standard payroll setup, you can explore the advanced payroll options offered by Meevo. Select a link to jump directly to that topic.
- Commission adjustments and splits: Define adjustments for specific appointment types such as requests and redos, manage spiffs, and pre-configure commission split ratios that you can quickly apply in the register.
- Commission overrides: Define commission for a specific service, product, package, or membership, or configure employee-specific commission overrides.
- Work Activity Overrides: Define the pay rate for when a specific employee is working a specific Work Activity. This rate overrides the employee's regular hourly pay rate.
