About Register Drawers and Drawer Manager
In Meevo terms, what is a register drawer?
The Meevo drawer is a virtual drawer that audits transactions at a workstation. To execute a transaction, a drawer must be selected, open, and available to the logged-in user.
You do not need a physical cashbox for each drawer. In fact, you can have any number of workstations with cashboxes, and have each workstation contributing to the same Meevo drawer.
What is the Drawer Manager?
The Drawer Manager is where you open and close drawers, edit opening and closing cash, and pay in or pay out cash. It provides details related to all available drawers, including cash summaries, transaction details, and totals, all of which can be printed for your records.
Can I assign a Merchant Account to a drawer?
Yes! Assigning a Merchant Account to a drawer makes it the drawer's default account. Select a Default Merchant Account from a drawer's maintenance form. Meevo will always use this Merchant Account when executing transactions from this drawer.
Can I assign devices to a drawer?
Yes! In the Drawers maintenance form, select a Credit Card Terminal Name and a Receipt Printer from the Main tab. This makes those devices the defaults for the drawer. This can be done via Drawer Manager as well.
What happens when I assign a POS Station to a drawer?
When you assign one or more POS Stations to a drawer, you're instructing those POS workstations to contribute to the same virtual drawer. The workstations will continue use the devices defined in POS Stations, if any.
What are "virtual drawers?"
Virtual drawers are Meevo system-level drawers that appear in reports if they have at least one transaction tied to them. See Virtual Drawers in Reports for more information.
What triggers a register's physical cash drawer to automatically open?
The register cash drawer opens when Cash is the form of payment, or when there is change due to the client (selecting OK on the Change Due window).
