Conflict and validation messages

  • Conflict Message: A conflict message warns the user that some kind of conflict exists for the action being attempted. The user can select OK to complete the action.

Examples: In the Appointment Book, the "double-booking" warning and the "this appointment conflicts with employee's time off" warning may appear.

  • Validation Message: A validation message informs the user that some information must be filled in or defined before the action can be completed. After selecting OK to clear the message, the user must then resolve the missing information before attempting the action again.

Examples: When attempting to book an appointment, the "service is missing Service Step timings" and the "no resources available for the selected service" may appear.

Conflict message options in Meevo

Options that impact conflict messages appear in three places:

  1. Employee profile > Enable conflict messaging in the Appointment Book: The master switch for conflict messages for a particular employee. If this is turned off for an employee, then the two options below are automatically off for the employee as well.
  2. Employee profile > Display prompt when double booking this employee: Applies to all users who attempt to double-book this employee. This option does not impact option #3 below.
  3. Service definition > Display prompt when double booking this service: Applies to all users who attempt to double-book with this service. This option does not impact option #2 above.

Example: If a given user has option #1 enabled and is attempting a double-book, then a conflict message will display if either the employee being booked or the service being booked have the Display prompt option enabled.

Appointment Book limits

The following are maximum values:

  • Number of employees on Appointment Book: 250
  • Number of services per appointment: 50, though additional services can be added to the appointment via means other than Appointment Editor (copy/paste, move, etc.).
  • Number of double-bookings per time slot: 5
  • Number of appointments per employee per day: 50
  • Number of weeks ahead to scan for opening: 2 weeks
